I just returned from a very large gathering at the State Capitol in support of pro-life issues in Minnesota. While the economy continues to be an important issue, it is important for us to keep making progress on this issue. As many of you know, I am a strong believer in the sanctity of life at all stages and it was very powerful to join hundreds of others from across the state in the Capitol Rotunda for this issue.
During my time in the Minnesota Legislature, I have supported multiple pro-life bills. Some of these are now law and some were stalled in the process or vetoed by the governor. Specifically, I believe strongly in fetal pain legislation discussed in the Minnesota House. It is also important that government health coverage plans do not pay for abortion services using public money from taxpayers, so I have voted in favor of rules that prevent public dollars from going to these services. Moreover, licensing and inspecting facilities that conduct abortions is important.
I hope you are keeping warm on these cold days. Please contact me if you have any questions regarding the upcoming legislative session.
